Cheeto the Clown



Recyclables needed:


Tall slender containercheese balls came in the one I used.
Cone shape container—sour cream or yogurt container
Large butter tub lid—use for the face—only need the lid




How to play: Dress the clown

Give the child the colored circles

 The adult calls out the instructions and the child does the act.
Example: use as a guide only

Put the blue circle on hole 3

Put the red circle on hole 2
Put yellow circle on hole 1

Continue until all the circles are on the holes.

How to play: Match the colors
The child rolls the different colored dice

The child matches the fuz ball to the same color on the dice.

The child finds the same color circle.

The child takes the circle down and puts the fuz ball in the hole.


How to play: color and number match
The child rolls the colored dice

The child matches the fuz ball to the same color
The child rolls the numbered dice

The child counts the dots on the dice and finds that number.
The child uncovers the hole and put the fuz ball in.



How to play: Spell CLOWN
Use the back of the clown
The child match the balls with the letters on them to the letters on the CLOWN

How to play: color and letter match
Use as a guide only

The adult reads/say the instructions and the child does the act
 Example:
        Put the red ball under the letter O
        Put the blue ball under the letter W
        Put the yellow ball under the letter L
        Put the green ball under the letter 6
        Put the purple ball under the letter N


Bonus activity: Juggle the balls. Start with one ball, then 2 etc.

Hidden at Sea




















Recyclable needed:
Large Tide clear container—looks like a fish bowl


How to Play: Hidden objects

The adult prepares the activity.
The adult reads the instruction and the child does the act.

Can you find the –the child finds the item and removes it from the sea
          Hammer                                  
          Toothbrush
          Book
          Shoe
          Car
          Can
          Flowers
           Hat/cap
      Flash light





























How to colors and positions:
Adults prepares the activity—put the boat in the middle of the sea.

Give the child all the clown fishes.
 Adult reads the instructions and the child does the act.
        Put one red fish above the boat.

        Put one blue fish under the boat.
        Put one purple fish in the boat.
        Put a green fish in front of the boat.
        Put a green fish at the back of the boat.
   
Now for a continued activity:
           Put a star fish on the left side of the sea at the bottom on the sand.

           Put a crab fish on the right side of the sea at the bottom on the sand.

           Put a sea horse between the star fish and the crab.
   
A different variation of colors and positions:
      The adult prepares the games—arrange all the sea life and all the different objects in the sea.

      Give the child all the clown fishes.

 Adult reads the instructions and the child does the act.

      Put a red fish in front of the sea turtles
      Put a blue fish under the boat.
      Put a green fish above the crab.
      Put a purple fish in front of the boat.
Now go to the other side of the sea and do the same thing.

How to play simple patterns:
The adult puts 3 fish in the sea. Use 2 colors. Purple, green, purple…Ask the child what color comes next. The child finds the right color fish and puts it in its place.

How to play colors.
The adult prepares the games—put all the pieces on the sea except for the clown fishes.

Give the child all the fishes.
            Put one of each color fish on the front of the sea.
            Put 2 blue, one red, and one purple fish on the side end.
            Put 2 purple, one green, and one blue fish on the other side end.
            Put the remainder fish on the back of the sea.

 The child arranges all the objects in the sea.

Ms. Sminky the Skunk





Ms. Sminky is a momma skunk with 5 babies. She feeeds her babies different colored worms. Ms. Sminky believes in making meal time fun and interesting. She will need help with the worms. Will you help her?



Recyclables needed:
Black laundry detergent bottle—I used Cheer
One small and one medium butter tubs.
The cool whip container is not needed



How to play: Spell Skunk
The child matches the baby skunks to the letters on Ms. Sminky.






How to play Feed the babies

Decide which set of cards to use. Each set teaches a different concept. There are 5 different sets of activity cards. Do one set a day.

Worms for the babies

  
The child draws a card.

The adult reads the card.
A sample card from the breaskfast set:

Give S skunk a blue worm
and shake your foot 3 times.


The child does the act. 



 mid morning snack cards--pattern activiy
Give the “S” skunk a green worm
     and clap your hands 2 times.

   

Give the first “K” skunk a purple worm
      and shake your right foot 4 times.


Give the “U” Skunk a green worm
         and clap your hands 3 times.


Give the “N” skunk a purple worm
   and shake your right foot 5 times.


Do you know what color worm
    the last “K” skunk gets?
 Find it and pat yourself on the back.

Queen Bee




Recyclables needed:  
Tall round wipe container
Round drink bottle



















How to play spell HONEY
The adult sets the game up. Put the HONEY word sign on the bee.










The child matches the barrels of honey to the same letters in HONEY.
 













How to play match lower case to upper case
 Child matches the bees with the lower case letter to the barrels of honey with the upper case letters.






How to play match the bees to the flowers
The adult sets the game up—Puts all the flowers on the Queen bee and set the bees with the colored circles in front of the child.

The child matches the bees to the flowers.





How to play match the flowers to the barrels of honey
The adults reads the instructions and the child does the act.
Example: use as a guide only

Put E barrel on the green flower.

Put N barrel on the pink flower.
Put H barrel on the yellow flower.
Put Y barrel on the red flower.
Put O barrel on the blue flower.







How to play positions:
The adult arranges the barrels of honey on Queen Bee.
The adult reads the instructions and the child does the act.

Use as a guide:

Put the red bee under barrel H.

Put the yellow bee between barrels H and N

Put the blue bee under barrel N

Put the pink bee above barrel E

Put the green bee under barrel Y



How to play What is wrong?
The adult sets the game up. Put the HONEY word sign on the Bee.
Use the barrels and spell HONEY wrong.


The child tries to find what is wrong and fixes it.
